Repair & Glow is a three-peptide protocol combining BPC-157, TB-500, and GHK-Cu to support tissue recovery and collagen production simultaneously. BPC-157 promotes local tissue repair by increasing blood vessel formation at the injury site. TB-500 works systemically to mobilize your body's healing resources. GHK-Cu, a copper peptide, stimulates collagen and elastin synthesis for firmer, more resilient skin. Together, the three peptides address recovery and skin quality in a single treatment plan, prescribed by a licensed physician and sourced from a 503A compounding pharmacy. If you have been researching peptide therapy in Chicago, you have probably seen BPC-157 and TB-500 mentioned together. That combination (our Wolverine protocol) is our most popular peptide treatment. Repair & Glow takes it further by adding GHK-Cu, which means you get the musculoskeletal healing support of the Wolverine stack plus the skin and collagen benefits of copper peptide therapy. It is the protocol patients choose when they want to feel better and look better at the same time.
We're here to answer your questions and provide the best services for your needs.
Each peptide in the Repair & Glow protocol targets a different part of the healing and regeneration process. Here is what each one does and why the combination matters.
BPC-157 (Body Protection Compound-157) is a synthetic 15-amino-acid peptide derived from a protective protein found in human gastric juice. Its primary mechanism involves upregulating VEGF (vascular endothelial growth factor), which promotes new blood vessel growth at the site of damage. More blood flow to injured tissue means faster delivery of oxygen, nutrients, and the building blocks needed for repair.
Preclinical research on BPC-157 is extensive, with over 35 published animal studies demonstrating benefits for tendon, ligament, muscle, and gut healing. A pilot study on intraarticular knee pain found that 7 of 12 patients reported improvement lasting six or more months. A 2025 safety study confirmed that IV BPC-157 was well tolerated with no adverse events in healthy adults.
TB-500 is a synthetic fragment of Thymosin Beta-4, a protein your body produces naturally in response to injury. Where BPC-157 operates locally at the damage site, TB-500 works throughout your body. It regulates actin (the structural protein inside your cells), promotes stem cell migration toward damaged tissue, and supports new blood vessel formation on a systemic level.
Published research on Thymosin Beta-4 includes Phase II clinical trials in wound healing that showed significant improvement compared to placebo. TB-500 specifically has limited published human data, though practitioner reports consistently describe faster recovery from soft tissue injuries when it is added to a peptide protocol.
GHK-Cu (glycyl-L-histidyl-L-lysine copper complex) is a naturally occurring copper peptide found in human plasma, saliva, and urine. It is the ingredient that puts the "Glow" in Repair & Glow. GHK-Cu stimulates collagen type I, type III, and elastin production, which supports skin firmness, elasticity, and texture improvement from the inside out.
GHK-Cu levels in the body decline significantly with age. At age 20, plasma levels average approximately 200 ng/mL. By age 60, that number drops to roughly 80 ng/mL. This decline correlates directly with reduced collagen synthesis and visible signs of skin aging. Supplementing GHK-Cu through peptide therapy is designed to support what your body produces less of on its own. Published research also shows GHK-Cu promotes wound healing, reduces fine lines, and supports skin density. [VERIFY: confirm GHK-Cu plasma level decline figures with published source before publishing]
BPC-157 repairs the specific area that is damaged. TB-500 rallies your body's healing systems to support that repair. GHK-Cu rebuilds the collagen and structural proteins that keep your tissue (and your skin) strong and resilient. Running all three in a single protocol means you are addressing injury recovery, systemic healing, and collagen regeneration at the same time, rather than treating them as separate problems.
This is what sets Repair & Glow apart from a standalone BPC-157 or TB-500 protocol. You are not just recovering. You are rebuilding.
This protocol is designed for patients who want both recovery support and skin quality improvement. It tends to be the right fit for people dealing with one or more of the following:
Most Repair & Glow patients at our Lincoln Park clinic are active adults in their 30s through 60s. Some are athletes recovering from a specific injury who also want to improve their skin. Others are focused primarily on collagen and anti-aging but like the idea of supporting their joints and recovery at the same time. The protocol is flexible enough to serve both goals.
This protocol is not appropriate for everyone. Repair & Glow is not prescribed to patients who are pregnant or breastfeeding, have active cancer or a recent cancer history (because BPC-157 and TB-500 promote angiogenesis, which could theoretically support tumor growth), or are under 18. If you take blood thinners or have an autoimmune condition, Dr. Brechner will evaluate whether peptide therapy is safe for your situation. Every patient is screened before any peptide is prescribed.
Here is how it works, from the initial consultation through your full cycle.
Consultation. You meet with Dr. Brechner at our Lincoln Park clinic or via telehealth (available throughout Illinois). He reviews your medical history, current medications, and what you are hoping to get out of the protocol. If Repair & Glow is the right fit, he writes the prescription. If it is not, he will tell you directly and recommend an alternative.
Pharmacy fulfillment. Your Repair & Glow protocol is prepared by our licensed 503A compounding pharmacy partner. It ships directly to you or to the clinic for pickup.
Administration. Repair & Glow is administered as subcutaneous injections (a small, shallow injection into fatty tissue using an insulin-type needle). Your provider teaches you proper injection technique at your first visit. Most patients self-administer at home after that. The whole process takes about two minutes.
Protocol length. A standard Repair & Glow cycle runs 4 to 8 weeks. We recommend 8 weeks for most patients, followed by a 4-week break before starting another cycle if desired.
When you will notice changes. Many patients report reduced inflammation and early improvement in soreness within the first 5 to 14 days. Tissue-level healing builds through weeks 2 to 4. Skin improvements from GHK-Cu tend to develop more gradually, with noticeable changes in firmness and texture typically appearing around weeks 4 to 8. Full benefits compound over the complete cycle.
Downtime. Minimal. You may have slight redness at the injection site for a day or two. Some patients experience mild fatigue during the first few days. Normal activity, including exercise, can continue throughout treatment.

If you have seen our Wolverine protocol (BPC-157 + TB-500), you may be wondering which one to choose. The short answer: it depends on whether skin and collagen matter to you alongside recovery.
Focused on musculoskeletal healing and recovery. Best for patients whose primary goal is injury repair, faster recovery, or reducing chronic pain and inflammation. Does not include a collagen or skin component.
Everything in the Wolverine protocol plus GHK-Cu for collagen stimulation, skin firmness, and anti-aging support. Best for patients who want recovery and skin quality improvement in a single protocol. Especially popular with patients over 35 who are noticing both slower healing and visible changes in their skin.
Some patients start with the Wolverine protocol for a specific injury and later switch to Repair & Glow for the added skin benefits. Others choose Repair & Glow from the start because they want both. Neither is better or worse. They are designed for different goals, and Dr. Brechner can help you decide which fits yours.
We publish pricing because you should not have to book a consultation just to find out what something costs.

Prepared by FDA-registered, state-board-regulated pharmacies following USP sterility and potency standards. Requires a physician prescription. Every batch is compounded in ISO-classified cleanrooms with pharmaceutical-grade ingredients and undergoes third-party testing for sterility, purity, and accurate dosing before it ships.
Labeled "for research use only" and cannot legally be used by humans. No guaranteed purity, sterility, or dosing accuracy. Often sourced from unregulated labs overseas. No physician oversight, no recall system, no legal recourse if something goes wrong. Many adverse events attributed to peptides trace back to contaminated research-grade products.
At Better Med Spa, every Repair & Glow protocol is sourced from a licensed 503A compounding pharmacy with verified certificates of analysis.
